ATT 2016: All Things Tennis returns with 2016 predictions

The ‘personal battles’ I mentioned in November continue, but so too will this grand old dame of a tennis blog.

2016 will see a more personal, informal and frequent blog – a place to vent and offer opinion as well as the match reports that make it slightly relevant.

Oh and more of my own tennis write ups and travel experiences – including a special focus on Wimbledon before my tenth year visiting in June/July.

2016 Predictions

Who will win the Majors

Australian Open – Andy Murray and Agnieska Radwanska
Roland Garros – Rafael Nadal and Simona Halep
Wimbledon – Roger Federer and Serena Williams
U.S Open – Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams

Okay so I know this is a bit idyllic in it’s variation and shows a romantic penchant for fairy-
tale endings, but a fan’s got to dream right?

Whilst Rafa and Roger’s home slam victories are probably unlikely, I feel that both Halep and Radwanska could finally break through and Murray looks poised for success again – Australia has gone begging in the past.

The likelihood is that Novak and to a lesser extent Serena will mop up again, but who really knows?

Rio 2016

Federer, Sharapova, Mahut&Herbert, Hingis&Mirza

Still in dreamland.

ATP and WTA Finals

Novak Djokovic and Petra Kvitova

Elsewhere

Again, if the above does happen re the Slams then I must allow Novak to triumph pretty much everywhere else so Djokovic to dominate the Masters Series.  Again I fancy a good year for Murray, Nishikori and surely Wawrinka can maintain his top 5 form. Sorry Cilic, Berdych and probably Tsonga, but your stars continue to wane.
Genie Bouchard must do better than last year, as must Simona Halep and Petra Kvitova. Maria may well struggle this year with injujries again but Victoria Azarenka can maybe reach a major final or two?
