Roland Garros 2018: Rafa demolishes DelPo and Thiem tames Cecchinato on men’s semi finals day

I’ll keep this brief for once.

So it is Rafa against Thiem as I (sort of) predicted at the start of the tournament. For what it is worth I think the Austrian has a chance on Sunday, as ridiculous as that sounds.

Thiem has the weapons to cause anyone trouble, and as incredible as Nadal was today against Del Potro, I feel he is still in a comfort bubble that Thiem could burst.

After all, he remains the only man to have beaten Rafa on clay in the last year.

Now don’t get me wrong, I suspect Rafa to lift the title yet again come Sunday, he swatted Juan-Martin aside today and quickly made a mockery of Schwartzman on the re-start yesterday.

Nadal is simply like no other here, but a great final awaits, I feel it….

Today though, Thiem was up to the unpredictable challenge of Cecchinato, it was a battle, but Thiem was up to it.
