Inevitably I am going to try and draw parallels with Halep’s slipped disc and my own, but of course I have no idea how bad the Romanian’s injury really is.
I imagine, as mine was down to a lethal concoction of poor posture, incorrect weightlifting and a lack of core strength that Simona’s won’t be as debilitating or as final as my own.
I doubt her doctor(s) told her she will likely never play again.
Yet, an injury of this type, however severe should be treated with respect and thankfully comes at the right time of the world number 1’s career that she won’t be rushing to get back onto the tour.
