Every day this week a big name had exited Roland Garros 2019 be it by defeat or injury.
That is, until today in which all of the main challengers prevailed, but some really had to work for it.
Halep (again), Osaka (Vs Azarenka in the headline contest of the day), DelPo (a thrilling 5 setter), Thiem, Fognini and Khachanov all had to dig deep to advance, but advance they did.
No such trouble for Serena, Zverev (!), Djokovic, Monfils, Barty or Bautista-Agut though.
We did lose a few names: Simon and Garcia for the home crowds but so too Stosur, Sabalenka, Verdasco and Edmund.
