Wimbledon 2019: Seeds continue to fall on Day 2

It was another day of drama at SW19 with some legends struggling and a whole host of seeds falling by the wayside.

Roger Federer and Serena Williams both struggled at times against their unheralded opponents, the Swiss even dropping a first round set here for the first time since 2010 (I was there and remember it well).

Both Kyrgios and Fognini (match of the day Vs Tiafoe) were taken to five and it was a good day overall for the Brits with Konta and Evans both winning.

But, here come the shocks: Muguruza, Sharapova, Thiem (Vs Querrey) and Vekic (Vs Riske) are all out. Bouchard is also out too in spectacular fashion although I’m really not sure if that constitutes a shock anymore.

It was plainer sailing for the likes of Bencic, Kvitova, Pliskova, Nadal, Cilic, Tsonga (Vs Tomic), Kerber, Bertens, Barty, Stephens and Isner.

Day 3 pick of the fixtures

Puig Vs Pliskova

Edmund Vs Verdasco

Khachanov Vs Lopez

Tipsarevic Vs Anderson

Gauff Vs Rybarikova

Chardy Vs Goffin
